CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Below is the latest statement from the Club which all District Associations must follow

The Club has taken the difficult decision that all Meets & THS's up to the end of April (including any that start on the 30th April) should be cancelled with immediate effect. Any event after this date should be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Leeds District Association welcome all members of The Camping and Caravanning Club to all of our meets which take place all year round. Whether you want a quiet weekend break or a fun packed holiday, Leeds DA have something for you. Try DA camping and you won't look back, you're guaranteed to have a great time, meet fantastic people and make friends for life, all while enjoying the great outdoors.

WEEKEND MEETS

Offering minimum facilities, a Club Meet will normally take place over a weekend, but can last for up to five days. Members can stay for a night or the entire duration, and all fees paid go back into the Club to ensure that we can continue to offer future events for members. Many offer entertainment or are organised with a particular theme.

TEMPORARY HOLIDAY SITES

Situated in popular holiday destinations, seaside resorts and countryside retreats, Temporary Holiday Sites offer members the chance to camp affordably throughout the UK. While the majority of sites have basic facilities of fresh water and somewhere for waste disposal, some sites have additional facilities such as toilets, showers and electrical hook ups.

We have now added the what3words location system to all our meets. You can find these in the Diary page, Weekend Meet Page and Temporary Holiday Site Page. Currently they are not displayed on the sites list.

How does it work?

Every 3m square in the world has a unique 3 word address that will never change. This makes it a fantastic way for us to show you where our meets are as postcodes are rarely much use when your trying to locate a field in the countryside. We have tried to be as accurate as possible and the what3words locations will show you the entrance to or the exact area the meet will be.

It is unlikely that you can input the what3words address directly into your sat nav or google maps etc. This is not really what it is designed for. The idea is for you to be able to use this system to see exactly where the meet is on a map, then you can choose how to input the destination into your navigation app.
